Broadband IP Phone-Phone Power

PC World’s Lincoln Spector wrote about Phone Power under the title “Cut your Phone Costs”. He calls it a more landline-like experience. It offers services for both home and business.

Residential and Small business Plan:14.95$ + tax = 18.03$/mo

Special Residential Promotion – 2 Lines for the price of 1!

Business plan (single-line): 39.95$ + tax = 44.85$/mo

Phone Power gives businesses the ability to reduce their monthly phone costs, to simplify their infrastructure by running both voice and data on one network, and to take advantage of features such as Automatic Call Distributors, voicemail to email, or even an entirely hosted phone system. Here are some details (features, drawback) of their VoIP service

Note: Before making a purchase, contact the support staff at Phone Power to ask them about their ‘no contract’ policy as well as other plan details.

Phone Features
You can keep your current number, access your voice mail from your email account, reject calls from people who do not display their caller ID.

Free second phone line with the same residential number, call waiting and forwarding, 911 service that sends your name, address and geographical information, auto attendant with business number, conference calling and an out of area number.

411, 611, 311 and 811 are other available services.

Get a local phone number anywhere $14.95/mo

Unlimited calling plans include 5000/min month. After 5000 you get charged a small amount for making calls.

Rate Comparison

Comsat and Time Warner Cable are two companies that are mentioned on the comparison chart on the website. I checked, and found that their rates vary with location unlike Phone Power, so the ‘single rate’ given on the chart for these companies does not serve the purpose of a rate comparison.

Drawback
The only problem with their voip service according to PC World is that setting up of signal and internet connection can take some time even with the help of the tech-support staff at Phone Power.
